The Truths and Untruths about SHAXI
If you know uber, bolt, Yango and Black ride then you probably understand Shaxi. Shaxi seeks to bring commuters and driver to a single platform Making it possible to move from one place to another with great convenience. It must however be stated that according to their website, it is only available in the greater Accra region. Nothing is said about other regions.
Is SHAXI registered?
As of today December 09, 2021 06:32pm, the name search of Shaxi on the registrar General's Department reveals that there's no records found. Is Shaxi not registered? Is Shaxi registered under a different name? Let's get clarity on this. Maybe we're not there yet and I am jumping the gun. A post we sited on Twitter suggests that Shaxi goes live on December 8 hence it can't be true that we're not there yet. Also, the official Twitter handle of Charles nii confirms same.
It's intriguing because others like bolt and Uber are also not registered. I don't seem to condemn SHAXI!!! Because it has a potential of making a Ghanaian rich but I'm curious to know if the state is robbed by these institutions. Some would argue that Uber has no office, but is it about office??? Isn't it about presence!!! In my candid opinion, they should be registered and be filling for taxes.
Who ownes SHAXI?
The website of SHAXI is totally silence about the owner or owners of SHAXI. There's no vision and mission statement, there's no clue about it's origin which in itself is not a wrong thing but it makes it easier to know who owes the company and what it does. In this day and age, trust is everything and it begins with total transparency about your business.
Shatta wale has since the beginning of SHAXI positioned himself as the owner of SHAXI with his close friends being ambassadors including Serwaa of GHOne and the Medicals. Is he the owner? Maybe and maybe not. Here's the thing, Celebrities are super Shaddy and we need to be circumspect. At this point we can only assume that Shatta Wale ownes SHAXI and hope that it's not a scam or yet another failed dream.
Shatta Wale; the successful business man
What can SHAXI bring to Ghanaians?
- Move drivers from the existing Ubers and bolts
- Do exactly what existing companies are doing
- Provide a few permanent jobs (less than 300)
- Exite Ghanaians that SHAXI has come
These are by no means little achievements and for me, even 1 job created would be much appreciated and would go a long way to reduce unemployment in Ghana. It is my wish that Shatta makes a breakthrough with this one.
