Free SHS a success - Prez. Nana Addo

 

In my previous write up on the 2121 WASSCE unpresidented success, I had stressed that leackages in paper may be the causes of the success instead of the position held by MOE and GES that double track has a role if any. Over the weekend, the president aknowledged that free SHS is a success due to policy implementation. Which policy??? 

I think we're too quick to apportion success in this instance and honestly, it's surprising that nobody is revisiting the report by Eduwatch. This is a clear vindication. They (Eduwatch) raised red flags, students pass. No correlation you say??? Well, we can pretend all we want but one day we'd wake up the realities.

In his presentation, the president empathizes the policies implemented by his government to give every child a chance to basic education just like he had done whenever an opportunity presents itself. However, the president had failed to trumpet what efforts were put in place to improve the quality. If you were able to show how quantity was increased, you might as well show how quality was improved. 

Together let us examine objectively the reasons why we recorded this success. It is not good enough to just jubilate at every good thing that happens to us. The reason behind the success is equally as important. A word to a wise is enough.
